Things To See in Miami
Miami’s sultry weather is not just what attracts vacationers throughout the year. Thanks to a distinct Latin
influence and spicy salsa culture the city’s nightlife reaches melting point. From fine dining restaurants to
trendy nightclubs, Cuban sandwiches in Little Havana, and Art Deco attractions, there so much more to Miami
that is sure to keep you entertained.
If you are in Miami for the first time, you may feel overwhelmed at all that you can possibly do. But, with some
planning, you can cover most places and have a fun filled trip. Start by listing what interests you most. If you
are an art lover, you will enjoy a visit to the many museums and art galleries in the city.
On the other hand, if you want to spend a quiet evening and savor nature, head out on a sunset cruise. There is
something for everyone in Miami and that is what makes it a haven for tourists for all types. So let’s start with
something for art lovers.
Art Deco District: This district takes you back to an old time era with majestic pastel colored restored Art
Deco buildings. Many of these buildings have outdoor dining areas with a beautiful view of the beach and
ocean. There are over 800 historic buildings from the 1920s to the 1940s that feature a variety of architectural
styles. There are several biking and walking tours available. Walking tours are scheduled every day at 10:30 am
and depart from the Art Deco Welcome Center on Ocean Drive. The center also organizes an evening tour on
Thursdays at 6:30 pm.
South Beach: South Beach is that stretch of the beach where Art deco buildings line the waterfront street.
Summers see hundreds of tourists flocking to take a refreshing dip in the pristine and sparkling waters of this
beach so you could always join them. Popularly known as SoBe, it is the embodiment of excess, a nightlife that
never ends, pristine shores, and more. That allows you to spend enough time to taste the best martinis, soak in
the sun and sand, marvel at art and architecture, hang out with wonderful people, and stay at a boutique hotel.
Bayside market: In every family, there is someone who is a shopper at heart. The marketplace is for those of
you who would love to go back home without a bagful of curios. Over 150 shops, cafés, and restaurants, in this
marketplace draw not just shopaholics but also locals. Once you are done with your shopping you can hop onto
a water taxi to return to your hotel or for a quick trip around Miami and back.
Open top Double Decker Tours: If you want a different perspective of Miami and wish to make the most of
the sights and sounds of the city, an Open top city tour could be right up your alley. These tours cover just about
everything there is to see with the main hubs being Downtown Miami, SoBe, and Coconut Grove.
